Pieter Bloemen

Pieter Bloemen has been a member of the Delta Commissioner’s staff since 1 February 2010. He is the initial contact for the Quality & Content area of attention. Mr Bloemen is mainly involved with knowledge and innovation as well as the basic values and principles of the Delta Programme.
He was part of the Quartermaster’s team of the Delta Programme. He was responsible for the development of the basic values and principles of the Delta Programme and for knowledge and innovation. In addition, Mr Bloemen was the contact for the sub-programmes Wadden Region and IJsselmeer Region.
Jos van Alphen

Jos van Alphen joined the staff of the Delta Commissioner on 1 June 2010. Within the “Strategy and Quality” area of focus he is responsible for the input and quality assurance of substantive knowledge and expertise. Jos is dealing chiefly with the Delta model, scenarios and the harmonisation of research programmes.
His previous position was that of knowledge manager at the Delta Commission secretariat. He gained his experience in coast and river management in various positions with the Directorate General for Public Works and Water Management, for example in the implementation of the EU Directive on Flood Risks and the development of new standards regarding flood protection.
Floris Hammer

Floris Hammer joined the staff of the Delta Commissioner on 7 April. He is working on several advisory reports within the department and is focusing on providing information, knowledge and finances.
Floris studied Physics and Astronomy in Nijmegen. In 2008, he started out as a government trainee at the South-western Delta Programme Office, where he was secretary of a Reflection Committee responsible for drawing up recommendations for that area. Subsequently, he was charged with making preparations at the embassy in Tokyo for a visit by Prime Minister Balkenende and Minister Plasterk together with the Innovation Platform, and he worked on road pricing at the Ministry of Transport, Public Works and Water Management.
